I found a study about knitting machine needles, that focus:
- the best profile of the needle
- the surface quality
- the influence of spun yarns on needle life
- finite element analysis (the red area is were the needle has high degrees of stress)
- the friction
- typical damage
- material of the needle
- and much much more.
I never thougth I would find this engineering study about knitting machine needles… but makes sense, because in industry you want to produce in time, with less cost and with quality.
